When you think about the words ?administrate? or ?administration?, what comes to mind first. I usually think of details that need to be solved and managed. Maybe you think of it as a word describing the current government and their activities. It?s not usually a very inspiring word.
I came across this word, though, while reading in Paul?s letter to the Ephesians:
?Surely you have heard about the administration of God?s grace that was given to me for you?? (Eph 3:2 NIV)
The difference is in what is being administrated. Here, it?s the grace of God entrusted to Paul for the good of others. Paul had been stewarded with the good news of God?s gospel of grace in Jesus. The mystery he?ll talk about in Ephesians 3 is that Gentiles (like me) are equally welcome to the Israel?s inheritance from God through their incorporation through Jesus.
Have you ever thought that God has entrusted you with word of His measureless generosity, and that God would love nothing more than that you would share that good news with so many who are living lives of scarcity and emptiness? What an honor to be given such an administration!
What might this look like as we enter a new year?
