Our ministry theme for over twenty years has been “integrating spiritual formation and leadership development." When we began this work, we sometimes felt a little like a voice crying out in the wilderness. It has been very encouraging to see more and more interest among Christian leaders today to grow in this way of living and leading.
One specific approach that we're finding more and more fruitful is the practice of a "one-third rule" in designing a planning meeting (or any other Christian gathering, for that matter). We recommend that a leadership team set aside at least one-third of a planning meeting to engage in practices of communion with God and community with one another before engaging the actual work of strategizing and planning.
This month, we're providing a resource designed to help a leadership team get started on a planning day that builds in significant space to "seek first His kingdom and His righteousness," rather than seeking first to make big plans for God that we hope He'll bless. We hope you'll find it stimulating. Let us know if we can help you further.
