?He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.? (Isaiah 40:29-31 NIV)
Human resources, even when they are abundant, will prove at some point to be insufficient. But if I direct my expectation and trust into God, I will find a renewable resource of power, refreshment, buoyancy, and stamina. This continues to be a learning place for me. I still often think only in terms of the resources that lie obviously at hand (or that seem to be lacking at present). The Lord is always with me, and The Lord does not run out of anything ever.
For Reflection: Where am I tempted to see present abundance as my primary resource without much reference to God as Provider? Where am I tempted to see present lack as a greater reality than the reality of abundant life always available to me in God?
